Different type of relationships                               

According to Brown, C (2006:85) there is different kind of relationships which exist in human nature. Baron, Bryne and Branscombe (2006) also collaborated with Brown and listed that there is a family relationship, friendship, and formal relationship. Brown mentioned the core areas that form nature of relationships in life; they are “affection, interpersonal attraction, proximity, similarity, self disclosure and physical attractiveness.

Proximity: physical and geographic closeness, those who live near are likely to share beliefs, social class and so on and also to love and maintain closeness.

Similarity: similar looks, beliefs, attitudes and values. However people may become more or similar over time. This is normally called charismatic love and affectionate towards one another.

Physical attractiveness: physically and socially attracted, attractive personality. What defines attractiveness is according to cultural norms. Attractive people tend to be feminine, youthful, slim, honest, successful, well adjusted, happier and more intelligent. Reciprocal liking is also one kind of the core formation of relationship;  we love those who like us and vice versa for those who dislikes us. Brown used the social affiliation model to define that people need to regulate their social contact to achieve a state of balance. She just mentioned a ‘social contact’; we’ve earlier talked about the reciprocal relationship within the environment. There is no way that a person can try to maintain contact with the environment if there are no existing or developing relationships. Otherwise this might result in negative social contact, socio-phobia, and or socio-path.

In all the nature and kind of relationships existing in the social world; there is always the bad and good side about it and its association. Most people in intimate relationship tend to focus more on the negativisms than the positives. As a result, most relationship is undergoing extremely difficult situations.
